Nido
Build like nature would
In a world that needs to build homes, NIDO asks an urgent question: what if we could build like nature does? With that vision, NIDO was born, revolutionizing the construction industry through biotechnology and regenerative biomaterials.
Its main innovation, the Nido Hydrogel Panel, is a panel made from algae, enzymes, and minerals. Designed to replace non-structural concrete and conventional insulators in cross-laminated timber (CLT) buildings, this material reduces the carbon footprint by 94%, decreases installation time by 83%, and lowers construction costs by up to 20%, all while improving thermal and acoustic comfort and fire resistance.
Inspired by biomimicry, NIDO doesn’t just build differently — it builds with purpose. Its solutions are modular, reusable, and designed for a true circular economy. Its impact is already validated in universities and international laboratories, and it is expanding to Chile, Spain, Peru, and the United States.
Founded by Loretxu García, Miguel Ángel García, and Karina Gómez, this startup has a clear ambition: that the construction of the future is in harmony with the planet, not against it.
NIDO fights for architecture that regenerates, inspires, and embraces life.
