Lucha and Anglo American Foundation join forces to multiply impact

That’s why we celebrate the start of a collaboration that not only propels us forward but also represents us: LUCHA and Anglo American Foundation join forces to open a new chapter of impact in Latin America.

Today, the world is full of solutions stuck in contexts that do not allow them to be born. Less than 0.5% of global impact capital reaches Latin America, and an even smaller fraction takes risks on ideas in their earliest stages or those outside the few existing hubs de la región. Aunque el ecosistema peruano está mejorando su infraestructura y cuenta con iniciativas gubernamentales como StartUp Perú y ProInnóvate, capital extranjero y asociaciones de venture capital tales como PECAP, los founders en el Perú aún enfrentan barreras regulatorias y una falta de emprendedores con experiencia de escalar startups. Esto limita su capacidad para convertirse en un líder regional en innovación y crecimiento, especialmente en sectores de impacto.

LUCHA was born to change that narrative. Now, Anglo American Foundation joins this cause with conviction, contributing not only resources but also trust in the potential of the founders we work with.

With Anglo American Foundation, we will grow 3 impact projects: 

• LUCHA’s Debt Fund: we will create a blended finance fund for impact founders. It will be a source of oxygen for impact ventures that, due to their stage or focus, still lack access to traditional financing.

• Strengthening Internal Capacities: this alliance enhances our ability to tell authentic stories and mobilize resources. Our fundraising and communications teams will be strengthened because impact needs to be visible to exist.

• Impact Ecosystem Development: we will activate events, meetings, and strategic spaces to attract investment, connect allies, and weave community.

More than 15,000 people impacted and 300 hectares of forest protected by the startups in our portfolio show us that it is possible. But not enough. Multiplying our reach requires allies willing to imagine beyond Excel spreadsheets. Anglo American Foundation has not only bet on our methodology; it wants to scale it.
